Sainthia

Sainthia (Bengali) is a town and a municipality in Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography

Sainthia is located at  23.95, 87.67. It has an average elevation of 53 metres (173 feet).

Demographics

Sainthia had a population of 39,244. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Sainthia has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 59%. In Sainthia, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
